Fort Perch Rock
"Defending our Heritage"

 Sunday 2 July 2006
Early Sunday morning Alice, wife of Doug Darroch Snr., passed away in hospital, with family at her bedside, after suffering a stroke at the Fort on Saturday. Alice will be remembered by many  who, despite her considerable walking difficulties, was the welcoming face to all visiting the Fort. In recent months she continued her work despite family misfortune determined to keep Fort Perch Rock open to the public.

Monday 20 March 2006
We are sad to announce that Doug Darroch Snr. died this day following a fall at the Fort. He will be remembered as an exceptional gentleman and was admired by everyone. He had many friends both in the UK and beyond, and was  recognised for his in-depth knowledge and devotion to Fort Perch Rock, its historical museums and its significance to the community.
